Prepared for Colby

This is Bella's ring.

The design is drawn and the stone is picked out. Two things left for you to call, then it's a 21 day build. Here's the whole thing in one place.

Where it stands

Two calls away from done.

Center: 1.16 carat oval, D / VVS2, 100% eye clean.

Setting: 14k yellow gold split shank, size 7.

Still open: Whether this is the stone, and whether we hide one inside the band.

In your hands: 21 days from the day you confirm both.

Price: $2,600 CAD plus GST.

A split band built around one stone.

The band splits before it reaches the head, two thin arms curving up each side to hold the oval. From above that split reads as a soft V on both sides. It's the detail that carries the ring.

14k yellow gold, slim through the back so a wedding band sits flush against it later. Four claw prongs, set low.

◆ Waiting on your yes

Oval brilliant, 1.16 carats

Top of the colour scale, and clean.

D is the highest colour grade there is, so there's no warmth in it at all, even sitting in yellow gold. VVS2 means you'd have trouble finding an inclusion under magnification, and it's graded 100% eye clean with no shade. Polish and symmetry both excellent, no fluorescence. The 1.47 ratio gives it a slightly elongated outline rather than a rounded one.

Two things from you.

Everything else is drawn, priced, and ready to go to the bench.

  • Look at the diamond. Spin it in the viewer above and tell me it's the one. Nothing is locked until you do, and stones this clean don't sit around.
  • Decide on a hidden stone. A small stone set flush inside the band, against her finger, where nobody sees it but her. Her birthstone, or something tied to a date. Yes or no is all I need.
  • Then we build. 21 days from the day both of those are settled. Cast in 14k yellow gold, stone set by hand, then finished and polished.
  • Then it's yours. Final quality check, photographed, boxed, and in your hands.

"Colby, this one is simple in a good way. The split shank is the right move for an oval this shape, it opens the ring up and lets the stone sit on its own without a bunch of noise around it. Take a proper look at the diamond, have a think about whether you want something hidden inside the band, and tell me yes on both. Then the clock starts and I'll keep you posted through the build."
