Prepared for Matt & Jen

This is Jen's ring.

Matt, you've made the calls that count. Here's where it stands, locked in, plus the short list left to close out before she goes into production.

Where it stands

The spec, so far.

Center: 3 carat elongated cushion, F / VS1, 100% eye-clean.

Setting: Terra Solitaire, slim white-gold band, hidden halo. (pending your final yes)

Hidden inside: Millie's emerald and Wendell's ruby, side by side in the band.

Terra Solitaire, plain and clean.

The plain white-gold band you asked for, with a hidden halo that lifts the stone so it floats. Understated everywhere it should be, so the diamond and the meaning inside do all the talking. This is the direction we're building unless you want to look at another style.

Render shows the setting with a 2ct stone. Your 3ct sits below, and the girls' stones sit hidden inside the band.

The one you picked, sized up.

◆ Confirmed

Elongated cushion, 3 carats

The clean, flattering shape, now with real presence.

Exactly the direction you landed on. The long, flattering cut that stretches her finger, corners softened, full brilliant sparkle. At F color and VS1 it's a bright, serious, clean stone, and it's 100% eye-clean, so there's nothing to catch the eye but the light.

The girls, side by side, inside the band.

Millie's emerald and Wendell's ruby, set flush next to each other on the inside of the band, resting against her finger where only Jen will ever find them. The outside stays quiet and clean. The meaning is something she discovers, not something on display. It's the kind of detail she'll stumble on months from now and melt over.

The last few details.

Almost there. Just these to lock and she's into production.

  • The setting. A yes on the Terra Solitaire, or a look at another style if you want options.
  • Engraving. Complimentary, inside the band. Your call whether you want it, and what it says.
  • Metal weight. White gold, 14k or 18k. 14k is a touch harder and takes daily wear a little better; 18k is the richer, more premium feel. On a plain everyday band, most guys land on 14k unless they want the bump.
  • Finger size. You're taking a ring she already wears on that finger to a jeweler to measure it. Just send me the number when you have it.

"Matt, these are the right calls. The elongated cushion gives you the clean, flattering shape with the sparkle to back it up, and the girls riding inside the band is the kind of thing Jen will carry with her every day without anyone else ever knowing. Close out the last few bits below whenever you're ready and I'll get her moving."

Engraving, your finger size when you have it, and a yes on the Terra Solitaire. That's all I need to get Jen's ring into production.
