Lifetime Warranty

Every OLVR ring is built by hand and stands behind a lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects.

1. Coverage Summary

OLVR warrants every ring against manufacturing defects for the lifetime of the ring. A manufacturing defect is anything that fails because of how the ring was constructed, not because of how it was used. Warranty service is provided at no charge, and OLVR covers fully insured shipping in both directions for all warranty service.

2. What Is Covered

The lifetime warranty covers manufacturing defects, including:

  • Casting flaws and metallurgical defects
  • Faulty solder points and weak joints arising from construction error
  • Structurally weak prongs or settings caused by manufacturing error
  • Broken shanks resulting from defective construction

When a manufacturing defect is confirmed by inspection, OLVR repairs the ring at no charge. If a repair is not possible, OLVR rebuilds the affected component.

3. Stone Replacement

If a stone is lost within the first six months of delivery, OLVR will replace the stone with one of equivalent specification at no charge, provided that inspection confirms a manufacturing defect was the cause. A manufacturing defect in this context means a malformed prong, an incomplete solder, an undersized seat, or a similar construction error.

If inspection identifies impact, accidental damage, normal wear, or third-party modification as the cause of stone loss, the loss is not covered under warranty. In that case, OLVR will quote a replacement at our cost and provide it as a paid service if the customer chooses to proceed.

After the first six months from delivery, stone loss from any cause is not covered under this warranty. Customers are encouraged to obtain jewellery insurance through a qualified insurer to cover loss, theft, and accidental damage.

4. Paid Service

OLVR offers the following services at standard rates:

  • Polishing and refinishing
  • Rhodium replating for white gold rings
  • Resizing beyond the first complimentary resize included with each ring
  • Repair of damage from wear, accident, or modification
  • Stone upgrades or replacements outside of warranty coverage

For all paid service work, OLVR arranges fully insured shipping logistics in both directions. The cost of shipping is the responsibility of the customer, in addition to the cost of the work itself.

Before any paid service shipping is initiated, OLVR will provide a written quote that includes both the cost of the work and the cost of shipping in both directions, so the customer can fully understand the total cost before proceeding. No work or shipping is initiated without the customer’s approval of the full quote.

5. What Is Not Covered

The lifetime warranty does not cover:

  • Loss, theft, or disappearance of the ring
  • Damage from impact, drops, or accident
  • Damage from chemicals, sports activity, or improper care
  • Stone loss occurring more than six months from delivery, regardless of cause
  • Normal wear, including scratches, patina, and surface marks
  • Modifications, repairs, or service performed by any third-party jeweller

If a third-party jeweller has worked on the ring at any point, the warranty is voided on the components they touched, including resizing, prong work, stone setting, and polishing performed outside of OLVR. OLVR can typically still service the ring, but the work falls under paid service rather than warranty.

6. Jewellery Insurance

A warranty covers how a ring was built. Insurance covers what happens to it after it leaves our hands.

Loss, theft, accidental damage, and stone loss outside the warranty window are not failures of construction. They are events. Standard practice across the jewellery industry is to insure rings against these events through a dedicated jewellery insurer or as a scheduled rider on a homeowner’s or renter’s insurance policy.

Premiums for jewellery insurance are typically 1 to 2 percent of the ring’s value per year.

OLVR does not provide official appraisals. For lab-grown diamonds, most insurers will accept the original OLVR purchase receipt and the IGI or GIA grading report that accompanies your ring as documentation of value. If your insurer requires a separate independent appraisal, you can obtain one from a qualified third-party jewellery appraiser at your own cost.

OLVR does not sell, endorse, or earn commission from any insurance provider or appraiser.

7. How to Make a Warranty Claim

1. Email hello@olvrjewelry.com with your order number and a clear photo of the issue.

2. Receive a prepaid, insured shipping label within one business day.

3. OLVR inspects the ring within 5 business days and determines the cause.

4. Warranty repairs are completed at no charge and the ring is returned to you, fully insured.

If inspection determines that an issue falls outside warranty coverage, OLVR will quote any paid service in writing — including the cost of shipping in both directions — and wait for your approval before any work or shipping is initiated. The ring is returned to you regardless of whether you choose to proceed.

8. Terms of the Warranty

Original purchaser. Coverage applies to the original purchaser. The warranty is non-transferable.

Proof of purchase. Your OLVR order number is sufficient to establish coverage. OLVR retains records of every ring it builds.

Inspection determines coverage. All warranty claims are subject to inspection by OLVR. Our determination of the cause is final.

Equivalent replacement. Where a stone or component requires replacement under warranty, OLVR provides one of equivalent specification, not necessarily the original. Material availability may require minor variation.

OLVR rings only. Service on rings purchased elsewhere or modified by a third party falls outside this warranty.

9. General Terms

This warranty is offered by OLVR Inc. and applies to rings purchased through olvrjewelry.com and shipped within Canada and the United States. It is governed by the laws of the Province of Alberta, Canada.

This warranty does not affect any non-waivable rights you may have under applicable consumer protection law in your jurisdiction.

OLVR reserves the right to update this warranty. The version in effect at the time of your purchase is the version that applies to your ring. Material changes will be communicated to active customers in writing.
